Formatting and Templates[edit source]

Subroups and Tooltips[edit source]

I subdivided some templates into different categories (see: Template:HelmList) so we can class elemental and trade-off weapons and helms. Also, I integrated mouse-over text (see: Template:RangedList, which will allow us to describe the particularities of non-standard items (i.e. Stun, Slow, Weight, Crit). We could add the % chance to proc on the tooltip too. Edit away and have fun with these! --Pomodorosan (talk) 14:29, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

Page Layout[edit source]

I just realized the Awesomenauts wiki is with Gamepedia/Curse too. I love their tabs for Stats/Skills/Upgrades/Information/Builds/Tips & Tactics. --Pomodorosan (talk) 04:13, 13 February 2017 (UTC)

Unit Pages[edit source]

Thought of a new way to present unitboxes, and to show exactly how much bonus damage/resistance each unit has to elements. I show them as "+100%" rather than "200%" because I'm not sure if only the base damage is affected by defense. Going to work on getting the damage data on , feel free to help out. --Pomodorosan (talk) 15:51, 7 February 2017 (UTC)

We Need Pictures![edit source]

Now that we have a working template (see Template:MascotCosmetics), we can start filling out cosmetics with pictures. Make sure the files you use are square, of 50x50, 100x100 or 200x200 px. Use specific file names. To add to a template, simply add a Template:MP nolink in the navbox's "list" section, filling out the file name and text that goes underneath. --Pomodorosan (talk) 14:43, 25 January 2017 (UTC)

Cosmetics[edit source]

We need a proper cosmetics navbox template before we start filling out the cosmetics section on unit pages. Don't make an individual table on each page. --Pomodorosan (talk) 13:18, 19 January 2017 (UTC)

Made two test templates to show what it could look like, Template:HelmCosmetics and Template:PixieCosmetics, would look like this on the unit page Test. We might want a different format if we want to write a note about each cosmetics, but we could mention noteworthy cosmetics in the trivia perhaps. I'd like to add subgroups to helms and weapons so we can separate normal from elemental items. Finally, we could separate items that are rewards from the pit from others, perhaps simply by an asterisk. --Pomodorosan (talk) 13:37, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
People are filling out cosmetics here and there, we need a finalized template for them :( --Pomodorosan (talk) 21:40, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

Unit Summary[edit source]

Should we add the in-game details about units (from the adventure book, forget the exact name) to the pages about each respective unit? I feel like it would help add to each unit description we've already put in place.

--Soulware (talk) 3:07, 19 January 2017 (UTC)

Sure, if it's helpful for the players. Just don't forget to add the source, where the information is coming from. Encredechine (talk) 11:16, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
I didn't plan on the Units page to be too in depth, I'd rather have people check the specific page for more information. We'll have the journal entries as screenshots on those pages. --Pomodorosan (talk) 13:18, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
I think Soulware meant on each page, i.e cupcakes adventure book text under its own section/header. Not the Units page. Having the journal entries as images can be admin-heavy in case they change stuff, might be easier to have as text? Also easier to link/reference stuff :).
--Dollersss (talk) 15:16, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
Ah, yes for sure we need the journal entry on each page. I was going to add screenshots, but remembered that a lot of pages have a few unfinished aspects (range indicator for example), so it would be a chore to re-do them later. --Pomodorosan (talk) 17:10, 19 January 2017 (UTC)

Unit template[edit source]

Should units maybe have a listing for "Strong against"/"Weak against"?

So that you would have:

Race: Mushroom

Resistance: Toxic

Vulnerability: Mallet

Strong Against: Cupcake,Mascot

Weak Against: Zombie

--Dollersss (talk) 15:48, 18 January 2017 (UTC)

I'm working on Template:Infobox. The Infobox template should be completely redone, because the code is pretty bad.
You're right we should add that. We should figure out everything that we'd like to see in the units Infobox, and how to present it. Here's a rough idea: Might get too image-heavy though --Pomodorosan (talk) 19:09, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
Looks good, just also add in the element/weapon vulnerability :). In reference to the below comment about the text from the adventure book, there are some other aspects that might be good in the infobox. example would be cupcake (adventure book entry/img is on the wiki page) which lists Speed and Range. Other aspects would be Size maybe (i.e troll-mom takes 3 hexes/party-slots.)
--Dollersss (talk) 07:57, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
In that case, in the Infobox, I would put pictures of the default unit and of the Abilities, then text of Speed, Size, Resistances, Vulnerabilities, Strong Against, Weak against --Pomodorosan (talk) 13:20, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
Ah yeah def as text instead of icons/images. atleast to start with :)

Units and Template:Units[edit source]

I invite more wiki-savvy people to work on these: I'd like to add a simple picture to each section in Units, like so Also Template:Units could use some love, I was thinking of something like --Pomodorosan (talk) 14:44, 18 January 2017 (UTC)

Introduction[edit source]

Now that the game is released, this wiki should be worked on. Should list basic stats of each unit, all of their mechanics, strengths, weaknesses and synergies. Use the default look for unit pages. All types and variants of weapons... Strategy pages.. Should rename pages to singular (ie Wraiths -> Wraith).. What else? --Pomodorosan (talk) 06:25, 16 January 2017 (UTC)

Feel free to create a roadmap for this wiki! Encredechine (talk) 08:08, 16 January 2017 (UTC)
I tried to mold the skeleton of the wiki, with generic and specific pages. Would need a template for unit pages, better format for all pages with a better style for the main introduction text, separators, and a trivia section. Pictures and refined text for all mechanics. Would like to change the "Articles" on the front page from "Enemies" to "Units", "Weapons" to "Equipment". What to do with Gameplay? There's a "Mechanics" category. --Pomodorosan (talk) 21:16, 16 January 2017 (UTC)
Would need a page to list mechanics such as "flying", "bleeding" idk, "helmet" "dodge" "unliving units" --Pomodorosan (talk) 05:21, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
You can always create new pages or categories and you simply can move a page and rename (click on MORE in the vector tab menu) it, just don't forget to relink it. If there is no "gameplay" but mechanics, just rename the page. For changes on the main page, I'd recommend, that you create an editcopy of it and work from that. When you are happy with the result, copy the content to the real main page and you should be done (I'm not married to the layout as it is now!). Falsely set <div></div> can make our footer go nuts, so if something seems very odd, this is one of the first things you should be looking for.

You can always have a look at our other Gamepedia Wikis and get inspired. For templates - well, we have some standard ones like the infobox template, the navigation box and etc. If you need something especially created for a wiki, you always can ask around or have a look at our other Gamepedia Wikis or ask the staff (in that case me!) or talk with the other users on the Gamepedia Slack channel! Please just refer from copying templates from other Non-Gamepedia related wikis! Thanks! Encredechine (talk) 11:50, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
